MY NAME IS VENECIA
After years of traveling and learning about other cultures and understandings of the concept of “Home”, I finally landed at home in my body. For me, to really know something is to experience it. I’ve studied yoga, meditation, massage and bodywork progressively for over two decades, and it continues to feed my experience and knowledge of this body I call Home. To supplement and support the integration of healing, I have studied and trained in Somatic Experiencing, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy, Embodied Relational Healing, Psychedelic Assisted Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Wilderness and Primitive Skills, and Sacred Sexuality and Intimacy. Through these studies and experiences, I’ve cultivated and refined a type of presence and capacity to hold space, soothe, and support the empowerment and re-wiring and regulation of clients’ nervous systems. I love exploring the landscapes of wilderness and deep silence both externally and internally. I find that this work serves as a pathway to accessing one’s felt-sense of safety, wholeness, and alignment within our skin and in all our relations.
Bodywork Training
Studying and practicing bodywork naturally evolved out of Venecia’s yoga practice which began in 2003. After teaching yoga classes and workshops for a couple years (2013-2015), she pursued trainings in Acroyoga and Thai massage. Currently she is a licensed Massage Therapist in Oregon (#023117), Washington (MA61397028) and Hawaii (MAT 14825). At Maui School of Therapeutic Massage in 2016 she completed the Advanced 850 hour Specialty Certification Program with an emphasis in Hawaiian LomiLomi and Zen Shiatsu. She was on the board of the Northwest Cranial Association for four years and furthered her studies in Inner-Body Yoga, Biodynamic Massage and Cranial Therapy with Todd Jackson, LMT. She completed a 6 month one on one mentorship with Todd Jackson in Biodynamic Massage in 2022. She has also studied Somatic Experiencing, Integrative Pelvic Therapy, Somatic Dialogue and Integrative Somatic Trauma Healing. Currently she is expanding her cranial education through assisting classes in Todd Jackson’s lineage and beginning to study Hugh Milne’s Visionary Craniosacral work. Lastly, her studies and experiences with Namae Ntumae of Cways Home have greatly informed her orientation to bodywork and the healing arts.
